Gone are the days where people used to say blogging is a hobby!

Today blogging has become a profession, and there are so many full-time tech bloggers who make their living via blogging.

There is no limit on how much you can earn from a blog. If you work hard enough, it could easily beat your 9-5 job salary.

In fact, I make a passive income through my tech blogs which pay most of my bills.

In this blog, I am going to talk about the proven ways that I have used myself to make money from a tech blog.

5 Ways to Earn Money From a Tech Blog

I am gonna talk about the ways I have used personally to make a passive income from my tech blogs.

1. Google Adsense

Google Adsense is an ad service from Google. If you have a blog you can be the publisher for Google Adsense.

Your blog should meet the eligibility requirements mentioned by google to be approved for the Adsense account.

If you maintain a quality blog with unique content following all the Google guidelines, your chances of approval are more.

Once you are approved, you will be provided with a unique ad-script that can be placed in your blog to display the ads.

Whenever someone visits your page or clicks the displayed ad, you will earn money.

To make a substantial amount from Google Adsense, you should have more traffic and quality blog blogs.

2. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a concept of promoting or referring products to your readers, and if they purchase through your referral link, you will get a commission.

The commission differs from product to product. It could be anywhere from 5% to 50% in general. Even there are products which offer recurring commisions.

Most of the digital products, eCommerce websites will have an affiliate program. You can apply through the respective website and if they approve it, you will get a unique tracking link to promote their products.

So for tech blogs, you can apply and promote digital products like online courses, software, ebook, etc.

The most common affiliate programs from tech bloggers are Amazon affilaite, Udemy, etc

3. Direct Advertisement

If you are blogging in a specific niche, you can offer direct advertising options on your blog.

For example, if you are blog is related to programming and have a decent amount of visitors, you can apply for direct advertising services like buysellads.com

You can quote a price for ad space in your blog sidebar or above the content. If someone from the marketplace is interested in your ad spot, they will request for purchase. If you approve it, the ads will be placed in your blog, and you will get paid for the time you display those ads.

4. Selling Digital Products

If you have the specific skill set, you can create digital products and sell it your blog readers.

Digital prodcuts like,

  1. ebooks
  2. Online courses

For example, if you are good at python programming, you can create an online course for beginners to get started with python programming. You should offer something unique in your courses. Something like real-world project-based learning.

You can price your digital products based on the learning levels (Beginner, intermediate, advanced)

5. Sell Your Services

You can also sell your services through you blog.

You are blogging because you are an expert at something right? or maybe you are good at learning and doing it.

Either way, you can offer your services in you blog.

For example, if you are a programmer, you can offer development services and bill the client on hourly or on a project basis.

With this option, you can also build your profiles on freelance websites.

Blogs will give you more visibility and creates authority.

I just explained the ways I personally use to make money from my tech blogs.

There is no limit on how much you can earn.
