Should You Quit Your Job To Become a Full-Time Blogger

I quit my job and taken a six months break to blog full time.

But it is not to pursue blogging as a full-time career. It’s for the feeling of freedom for six months.

I worked so hard for more than eight years to afford a six-month break.

I have set up passive income streams, and the blogging I do is relevant to what I do in my day job. So this helps me stay relevant with the industry even if I on a break.

In this blog, I will try to help you figure out if you really have to quit your job and be a full-time blogger.

Do you have a second source of Income?

Do you have a second source of income?

If your answer is no, then don’t quit your job.

You can always continue blogging when you have a 9-5 job. You can easily spend 3-4 dedicated hours along with your daily job.

If you don’t have a second source of income to support the family, you might end up under stress if things don’t fall in place as your expected.

You can work on your blogs with your day job until you create a steady income source. Then you can probably think of a break that won’t hurt you much financially.

Let’s assume you have a second source of income.

Next question is, do you have any loans.

Is there a passive income stream that would pay of your loans every month?

If no, then don’t quit your job!

Till the time you have a job, you are sure that you will be paid every month and you can pay your loan EMIs.

So it is kind of a wise decision not to quit your job if you have a loan payment every month.

Do this if you really want to quit your job

Do the following things if you really want to quit your job.

  1. Hustle every day to create a passive income source.
  2. Make sure your passive income beats your 9-5 job salary.
  3. Do not talk about your plans to everyone because they will talk you out of the big things you are supposed to do. Discuss it with only like-minded people.
  4. Invest in passive income-generating real estate if possible.

But always remember,

“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. – Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist”
